seperating male & female leo's for the winter

Postby DAVE JOHNSON on Fri Sep 26, 2008 11:27 pm

it is not so much your advice i require but your opinions on this subject as i have already made my mind up on what i am going to do . i have read many posts on forum and sites regarding separating leo's for the winter and it seems to be a 50/50 with most keepers , some do some don't . i know the benefits of separation , being that the male can harass the female to mate and separating then re introducing keeps him interested in her and improves the chances of mating but if like me you don't want to rear babies is it necessary to separate them ? , my male showed all the signs of wanting to mate initially but these have stopped over the last few months so he is no longer tail wagging and following her around . i am still going to separate them as this gives them there own space for a while but i would still like to hear your views on this subject.. thanks .
